Monte Carlo Hotel BURNS

A fire broke out on the upper levels of a 3,000-room Las Vegas hotel on Friday but there were no immediate reports of injuries and the blaze was quickly contained, US media reported.
The fire erupted at the Monte Carlo hotel on the Las Vegas Strip shortly before 11 am (1900 GMT) local time, sending thick black smoke and flames billowing from the roof.
By 12 pm the fire appeared to have been brought under control, with flames and smoke largely extinguished, footage on CNN showed. The cause of the fire was not known, reports said.
Earlier, flames could be seen spreading across the facade of two wings of the hotel as firefighters on the roof attempted to tackle the blaze.
Plumes of smoke could be seen for miles around, witnesses told AFP.
CNN reported that the fire was catching across the building's synthetic stucco but had not penetrated the interior of the hotel.
Guests at the resort -- one of the biggest on the Vegas strip -- were being evacuated to neighboring hotels, reports said.
The 32-story Monte Carlo, which sits on a sprawling 44-acre site, cost an estimated 344 million dollars to build and opened in 1996.
A fire at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in November 1980 left 87 people dead, and nearly 800 injured, the worst disaster in Nevada history.

Las Vegas Sands Gets Marina Bay Funds

Casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp. said it received 2 billion Singapore dollars ($1.4 billion) in initial funding under a credit agreement for a hotel-casino development in Singapore.

The Marina Bay Sands project will include Singapore's first casino and house 2,500 hotel rooms, 1.2 million square feet of convention space, 1 million square feet of retail space and three entertainment venues. It broke ground in 2007 and is targeted to open late next year.
Las Vegas Sands Chief Executive Sheldon Adelson said in a statement Tuesday the company was pleased the Singapore interest rate of about 3.6 percent was "significantly below" rates it would have received in the United States or other international markets.
Earlier this month Las Vegas Sands said it secured nearly $4 billion in loans to complete construction of the Marina Bay Sands. The financing package for the project includes a cash contribution of roughly $558 million from the company.

Mandalay Bay Las Vegas

The Pool
Sand, surf and plenty to look at. If you love to sit around the pool in Las Vegas, there is no better place to do it than at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The beach area has real sand, the lazy river keeps you cool as you float around the crowds and the cocktail waitresses make sure you are refreshed

Mandalay Place
Shopping? Well, the Art of Shaving gets you looking good, the Nike Golf Store has almost everything you need for the links and 55 degrees gives you reason enough to pop open a young Barolo before it reaches it's maturity.

Shark Reef
As long as you don't drop anything into the touch tank you should be fine. Take the kids and stroll around the aquarium and learn a few things before you kill those brain cells at the bar. No kids with you? It's still worth a trip as you find a dark spot near the jelly fish to whisper something kind into someone's ear.

House of Blues
Right in the lobby of the Mandalay Bay you have the House of Blues and almost every night of the week you have the best in entertainment.
